Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered a statement through a video message on 23 April 2022 at the 4th Asia Pacific Water Summit held in Kumamoto, Japan.
The Kumamoto City of Japan and Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) Jointly organised the Summit on 23-24 April 2022 under the theme 'Water for Sustainable Development -Best Practices and the Next Generation'. The hybrid event was attended by the Heads of State and Government, United Nations Secretary General and related stakeholders of countries in the Asia and the Pacific. His Majesty the Emperor and Empress graced the inauguration of the event virtually while Prime Minister Fumio Kishida attended in person and welcomed the delegates to the Summit.
The Summit adopted the Kumamoto Declaration which would contribute to the mid-term review of the Water Action Decade at the UN Water Conference in New York, United States from March 22-24, 2023.
