The Embassy Celebrates the Victory Day 2017
The Embassy observed the Glorious Victory Day in a befitting manner. At the outset in the morning, H.E. the Ambassador hoisted the national flag of Bangladesh in presence of the Embassy officials and expatriate Bangladesh nationals. 01 (one) minute silence was observed to pay homage to the martyrs. A special prayer (munajat) was offered for the salvation of the souls of the liberation war martyrs and for the peace and prosperity of the country and the well-being of the expatriate Bangladesh community.
The Messages issued by Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Victory Day were read out. A discussion program on the significance of the Day followed the welcome address of H.E. the Ambassador. The discussion program was attended by Ambassador Matsushiro Horiguchi, President, Japan-Bangladesh Society and Mr. Hidetoshi Irigaki, Senior Vice President, JICA, among others. With a view to recognize and further inspire the contribution of the community in promoting the language and culture of Bangladesh as well as enhancing the image of Bangladesh in Japan, Ambassador’s Award was conferred, for the first time, to two leading community cultural organizations. The initiative has been well-received by the Bangladesh community in Japan.
A colorful cultural program was also arranged which was participated by Japanese students, teachers as well as Bangladeshi artists. Packet lunch was served at the end of the program.
