Bangladesh-Japan Joint Seminar for Construction and Real Estate Industries and MOC Signing Ceremony held in the Embassy
A Bangladesh-Japan Joint Seminar for Construction and Real Estate Industries and Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) Signing Ceremony was held on 15 June 2017 at the Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo. It was jointly organized by the Embassy along with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan. The MOC between the Public Private Partnership Authority of Bangladesh and MLIT of Japan was signed by Mr. Yasuki Kaibori, Deputy Minister for Construction, Engineering & Real Estate Industry of MLIT and Mr. Syed Afsor H. Uddin, Chief Executive Officer of PPP Authority, Prime Minister’s Office, Government of Bangladesh.
The MOC signed between MLIT and PPPA is an outcome of recently formulated Policy for implementing PPP projects through G2G partnership, the first such agreement to be signed under the G2G framework. H.E. Ambassador Rabab Fatima in her speech at the event hoped that ‘this MOC will open up a new horizon for mutual cooperation on quality infrastructure development in Bangladesh.’
Around 45 representatives from the prominent Japanese public and private entities engaged in construction and related industries attended the seminar & MOC signing. The participants expressed their optimism that the leading Japanese construction companies will seize upon the opportunities that will be offered under this MOC and contribute to Bangladesh’s economic growth and development.
