Change in Travel and Visa Advisories
In response to spread of COVID-19, the Government of Bangladesh has decided to implement the following travel & visa advisories with effect from 1200 hrs Bangladesh local time (1500 JST*) of 16th March 2020. Please note that this is a temporary measure, and updates on changes will be provided on an ongoing basis.
1. All on-arrival visas of Bangladesh will remain suspended until 31st March 2020 for incoming passengers of all countries.
2. Visa may be issued by the Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo subject to a health certificate issued by a competent Japanese hospital/clinic that would certify that the applicant is not infected by COVID-19. Submission of this health certificate is MANDATORY. Those who have already been issued visa by this Mission, but not yet travelled to Bangladesh will also need to submit this certificate at the Immigration authorities in Bangladesh.
3. All people including Bangladeshi nationals who will henceforth be arriving in Bangladesh from other COVID-19 affected countries may be placed under self quarantine for two weeks after arrival. This will continue until further notice.
4. All foreign and Bangladeshi nationals entering Bangladesh through any port are required to furnish a duly filled self-declaration form (including personal particulars i.e. phone number and address in Bangladesh) and travel history, to the health officials and Immigration officials at all arrival ports.
