Embassy of Bangladesh observes the historic Homecoming Day and starts countdown of Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation
The occasion of the historic Homecoming Day and Countdown of Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been celebrated by the Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo on 10 January 2020. Countdown to celebrate the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman also started on the same day. Officlas of the Embassy and representatives of the Bangladesh community living in Japan were present on the occasion. After the speeches of the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister had been read out, the Chargé d’Affaires, Dr. Sahida Akter, delivered her speech to mark the significance of the day. In her speech, Dr. Sahida paid deepest homage to the sacrifice that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu made throughout his life to break free of the oppression and win freedom for the people. She mentioned that the year 2020 was special as in this year the nation was going to enter phase of celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu. She requested everyone to join the celebration throughout the year and hoped that the year would be a remarkable one with Bangladesh setting fresh examples of overcoming odds and moving forward. Later, Bangladesh community members engaged in vibrant discussions and highlighted Bangabandhu’s unparallel contribution for the nation.
