Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo celebrates Victory Day
The Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo celebrated the 49th Victory Day with due respect and befitting manner. Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy, Dr. Sahida Akter, inaugurated the celebration with national anthem and hoisting the national flag in the morning followed by prayers and 1 minute silence for the valiant martyrs of the freedom fight in 1971 who sacrificed their lives to break free of oppression and genocide. In her speech, Dr. Sahida recalled with deep respect the bold and visionary leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and called out for strengthening the hands of her able daughter, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to make Bangladesh a developed country following the Vision 2041. Messages from the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs on this occasion were read out and a video on the life and works of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were also screened. Officials of the Embassy and a large number of members of Bangladeshi and Japanese community attended the event.
