State Minister for Foreign Affairs Visits Japan
Mr. Shahriar Alam, MP, Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs visited Japan from 4-9 June. The State Minister attended the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia organized by Nikkei as a panelist. He also had a series of bilateral meetings that included meetings with H.E. Mr. Nobuo Kishi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Government of Japan; H.E. Mr. Yosuke Isozaki, State Minister for Agriculture, Government of Japan; and Mr. Shinichi Kitaoka, President, JICA.
In these meetings he highlighted the necessity of further and stronger cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan for the mutual interest of the both the countries. He also informed his Japanese counterparts about the various security measures taken by the Government of Bangladesh to ensure the safety and security of all foreigners including Japanese.
In the sidelines of the Nikkei Conference, the Hon’ble State Minister had meetings with Mr. Le Luong Minh, Secretary General of ASEAN and Mr. U Thaung Tun, National Security Adviser of Myanmar. He also held meetings with the FCCJ and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The State Minister also visited the Embassy and addressed the officials.
